Why is it still around??? Because when I adopted my loving dog I made a committment to it. Just because it sometimes behaves as an animal (yes, some animals do atrocious things) isn't a reason to shoot her or have her put to sleep if that's what you're suggesting.

It isn't like I have a pit bull that I let run around the neighborhood. If that were the case, I would agree with you. This dog is part beagle and part unknown. I adopted her when she was two years old because she needed a good, loving home and she was (and is) a very loving dog. Her alternative was to go to the pound and be put down. I have no way of knowing her history and what she may have gone through when she was younger that may have shaped her behavior. I know now that I need to keep my dog away from cats and I do.

She also eats cat turds but I'm not going to get rid of her for that. I just don't let her lick me for a while (BTW... although she eats cat turds, you can't even force her to eat a donut from Marsh. She'll eat donuts from anywhere else though).

My hunch is that you and I aren't going to agree on this so maybe we should just agree to disagree and drop it.
