Shana, this is again bad publicity for Marion and it is embarassing.
The New Orleans beating of the old guy also is an embarassment to me.
Come on hasn't any of those cops ever had to grab onto someone could have this been handled differently ?
This really upsets me just as the King beating did.
In some ways we are nothing more than a reflection of society, and I realize with numbers of cops across the board mistakes are going to be made but will we ever learn.
I guess in New Orleans Zero Tolerance is the rule.
And please don't lie to me and tell me that while the guy was standing and the horses ass was trying to block the camera view that I didn't see the man getting punched in the head while being held. This ain't right. Sorry I don't care how stressfull life can be for you down there we can't beat our own people anymore.
Now if the tables are turned and you are getting thumped then the eccessive force bar is going to get raised. But thats not what I saw.
When I first saw this I joked with my wife about the little guy wearing the tan vest grabbing onto the old mans leg.
Later he was identified as an FBI agent.
I teased that it looked weird for him when grabbing the old mans leg he seemed to wrestle aroung with it. He wanted involved.
Well he will be when he and the others are held accountable for civil rights and battery violation.
I may seem a little harsh but I truly love my job and I want better for all of us.
I will be there and back up my buddy everytime.
I am a beat cop no fancy desk with pictures of my wife or kids on it.
The old school cop is no more. Most deparments now want yes men with a college degree.
Experience, common sense and street smarts is rare.
peace,
