Bill, I agree with you for the most part. I have only faced Scud Missles and possible chemical/biological attacks for 2 months back in Desert Storm, so I don't know what the daily pressures are like on the beat, when the guy you stop for a routine traffic violation could pull a gun and blast you.
However, do really think the cops were unprovoked? Do you think they just decided to wail on this guys head for a good time? I certainly hope not.
And while Rodney King was over blown, the guy was on PCP, or so they thought. Plus he has been in and out of trouble since then, so doesn't probable cause still count for something?
But the guy in NO should have one irrefrutable piece of evidence on his side - blood test. If he was not intoxicated, that should show up when the took him to the ER - yes?
And please agree to one thing - the liberal media only showed the beating, they did not show the events leading up to the beating and we have heard nothing about that.
So in my mind the cops are still the good guys until proven guilty.
