It does give one pause, and perspective. We all have our trials and tribulations. Some things, like sports, do get overplayed a bit. It is too bad that many people don't have enough other constructive good things going on that they have to focus so much on sports. Hell, just raising a kid or two....staying happily married....having and maintaining a productive wrok life...having an opportunity to be of assistance to family, friends or strangers....is rather consuming for most of us.
The main reason I wanted to respond here is to let you know that our thoughts and our prayers are with you George. As I say, "We are each an experiment of one". Do please keep us posted.
Due to the recent death of an 18 year old nephew who came down with a rare fatal disease..all taking place in the month of April!, we decided we needed to get checkups and all. Fortuantely I haven't had much need to visit a doctor for the past ten years. And yet, I am moaning about the bills...you have to double check them and hold the insurance company's feet to the fire to ensure they pay for what they are obligated! And yet, my wife got blood tests from her doctor ($53.00), my doctor sent to the outpatient services in the hospital where his office is (and old friend)....and same tests were billed out at over $1,000!!!!
It is a scary thought what I may go throught, and what many of you must face, with more regular and more serious issues/complications.
I hope to live well, and for the next 50 years. I hope that we all learn to deal with one of the biggest issues that we will be increasingly confronted with.
Perhaps with this "new site", we will be able to share our wisdom to help minimize our miseries.
