Rick L. Austin, age 63, of Marion, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 unexpectedly of a massive heart attack in his home.
Rick was born on February 17, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of the late Ulysess “Bud” Austin and Maxine Dawn (Luther) Austin. He married Nancy Quick on December 29, 1993, and she survives.
Rick was a lifelong resident of Marion, growing up in Bucktown. He was a graduate of Marion High School and I.T.T. Tech. He worked for 35 years at Foster Forbes/Ardagh Glass in the hot end as an upkeep man. Rick worked hard and looked forward to retirement and did so in January 2016.
Rick had a ’72 Nova that he just loved to show off! He enjoyed attending the grandkids ballgames. His grandson, Eli was his best buddy along with his cousin, Butch Gandee who was his side-kick. Rick was an avid Colts, Pacers, IU and Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan. He and Nancy attended Brookhaven Wesleyan Church in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Austin of Marion; sons, Clinton Austin of Texas, Phillip Austin of Indianapolis, Ben Quick of Jonesboro, and Nathan (Jericho) Quick of Vincennes; daughters, Jody Austin of Marion, Cassie Austin of Gas City, Lyndsey Austin of Indianapolis and Kasey (Brian) Parks of Marion; twin brother, Robbie (Jeannine) Austin of Marion; brother, Tim (Robin) Austin of Marion; sisters, Vicki (Johnny) Erickson of Okeechobee, Florida, Susie (Ike) Denton or Roann, and Shelly (Larry) Garcia of Okeechobee, Florida; and his twelve grandchildren, Morgan, Maggie, Rhamy, Eli, Anthony, B.K., Kirby, Maeley, Rileigh, Fallon, Davion, and Dalyn.

EVANSVILLE — Robert Alan Blake Sr., 61, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Evansville, Ind. He was born on September 4, 1953 in Marion, the son of Robert Dale and Norma (Hoover) Blake.
He graduated from Marion High School in 1972. He received his Associated Computer Science degree from Ivy Tech Community College Evansville in 2005. Bob had many loves in his life, including reading, music, his family and friends.

James “Mike” Davis
April 27,1954 – June 21, 2015
Mike was born on April 27,1954. He was taken from us on Fathers Day, June 21,2015. Mike graduated from Marion High School, Class of 1972.
He is survived by a loving wife of 45 years, Brenda, 3 children Stacy 44, Cathie 42, Christian 38, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Mike and Brenda left Indiana in 1977 and moved to California. He found his place. He was an Electrical Engineer all his life until illness made him retire in 2000.
He coached baseball for 36 years. His one passion, to teach kids how to play baseball. He was really good at it. Mike coached our son and our grandkids. He was respected by all the kids and they all wanted to be coached by him. Mike knew the game like no other.
Mike collected action figures, mostly Batman, but a lot of others too. Enough so, we opened a toy store called Collectors Edition, it lasted till 2005.
Everyone loved him and he will be missed, but never forgotten!

Jerry “J.D.” Dilley, age 59, of Marion, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, in his home.
Jerry was born January 7, 1954, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Harry Dilley and the late Mary Louise (Oswalt) Dilley. He married Terrie Stout on March 24, 1989, and she survives.
Jerry was a 1972 graduate of Marion High School, and worked at Chrysler from 1972 until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of the U.A.W. #685; the H.O.G.; Milwaukee Iron MC; A.B.A.T.E.; and the AMRA. Jerry attended Grace Community Church and loved taking care of his horses and animals. He enjoyed drag racing motorcycles and won the National Drag Racing Championship in 1994 and 1995. Jerry was a proud father and grandfather.
Survivors include: wife, Terrie Dilley of Marion, Indiana; father, Harry D. Dilley of Marion, Indiana; son, David D. Dilley of Riley, Indiana; daughter, Andrea M. Cox-Dilley of Marion, Indiana; brother, Ronald (Brenda) Dilley of Marion, Indiana; sister, Phyllis Stepler of Amboy, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristin L. Nemes, Laney G. Joseph and Chase S.M. Cox; and life-long friends, Rick King, Tony Waymire and Rick Enyeart, all of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and a brother, Richard A. Dilley in 2010.
Funeral Services were Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial followed in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.

Daniel Lee Dykhoff, 63, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his Summitville, Indiana residence.
Daniel was born in Gordon, Nebraska on December 9, 1953, son of Kenneth L. Dykhoff and Esther (Fletcher) Vermilion. Daniel graduated from Marion High School in 1972 and attended Tucker Vocational School of Marion, where he studied electrical engineering. He received his journey man card through the UAW 1166 of Kokomo where he was a member. Daniel was an electrician at the Chrysler Die Cast plant of Kokomo for 24 years. He was a Lifetime member of the NRA and attended Main Street Wesleyan Church. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns with his friend Craig, and family vacation’s to the beach. He was a wood worker, part time home builder, and could repair anything mechanical.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cecilia A. Small. They were married on June 30, 1979. Also surviving are his parents; Esther Vermilion, Marion, Kenneth L. (Ardeth) Dykhoff, Marion, children; Henry Dykhoff, Summitville, and Jessica (Kiley) Craig, Abilene, TX and their children, Wesley and Alleyne, three sisters; Melody Hughes, Marion, Gazina (Rick) Jumper, Nashville, TN, and Harmony Dykhoff, Marion, three brothers; David (Lisa) Dykhoff, Muncie, Don (Julie) Dykhoff, High Point, NC, and Ken (Brenda) Dykhoff, Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Don Vermilion.
Services for Daniel will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastor Ken Dykhoff and Shawnda Dykhoff officiating at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Visitation is Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Robin’s wife Cheri writes: After 3 1/2 months of struggling with his leg wound, Robin passed away last night (10/18/2017) surrounded by family and friends. Our hearts are broken as we will miss him. He is with the Lord now.
Robin O’Brien Emmons, 63, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North. He was born on May 5, 1954 in Marion, Indiana.
Robin received a Master’s degree in Administration from Ball State University. He was an Assistant Principal for Marion Community Schools for 30 years, retiring in 2007. Robin enjoyed boating & watersports, fishing, and vacationing in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cheri Emmons; mother, Delaine (Bassett) Highley; sons, Todd Emmons (fianceé, Dora), and Craig Emmons (girlfriend, Dua); and his brother, Tracy Emmons (wife, Rhonda).
Robin was preceded in death by his father, Fred Emmons; grandparents, Lloyd & Bertha Emmons and Elizabeth & Ralph Bassett; and father-in-law, Rodney Richey.
Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation from 12:00 pm noon to the time of service. Luann S. Lee, 59, Marion, died at 6:38 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Marion to the late William Boyd Evans and Marilyn Evans Julian. She married Terry R. Lee on September 1, 1979. He survives.
She was a teacher’s assistant for Marion Community Schools for 16 years and attended Grace Community Church. She was a 1972 graduate of Marion High School and graduated from Marion Business College. Luann enjoyed fishing, going on car trips with her husband, taking pictures, solving puzzles and watching her daughter and granddaughters play softball and son play soccer. Above all, she was dedicated to her family, from her husband all the way to her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She loved being a mam-maw.

He attended Goodman Theatre School of Arts & Drama, Chicago, in 1975. He graduated from Marion High School, in 1972, and attended Ball State University.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Fort Wayne, Usher at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and Good Shepherd PA Work Camp. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Joseph Lee Ford, 59, Marion, died at 10:27 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late James Lowell Ford and Marilyn (Weicht) Ford.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and arrowhead artifact collecting. He enjoyed sports: Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and I.U. He loved helping people, especially his mother. Joe was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for others. Friends and family were very important to him.

CLINTON – Pamela Jo Pray, 61, of Clinton, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Marion, Ind., a daughter of Joan Frye of Clinton, Mich., and the late Desmoine Frye. Pam loved crafting, cooking and was very creative. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she loved having family over, along with spending time with her dog, Frankie and late Sarah. Pam also loved spending time at her lake cottage, with family, in North Webster, Ind.
Along with her mother, Pam is survived by her husband, David P. Pray; children, Mark (Richelle) Baylis of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Katie (Matt) Dorr of Clinton, Mich., Kelly (Michael Tongel) Baylis of Lancaster, Pa., Kristin (Vince) Vescelius of Tecumseh, Mich., Robyn (Chad) Olson of Livonia and Lauren Pray of Livonia, Mich. A sister, Barb Frye of Clinton, Mich., and five grandchildren, Wyatt and Dillan Baylis and Marlena, Ben and Lila Olson.
A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 2-8pm at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A memorial service will be held at 11:11 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at the Clinton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jon Turner officiating. LAFAYETTE – Paul Jeffrey “Gov” Gulliford, 53, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday in Home Hospital.
Born in Marion to the late Paul William and Ruth Ann (Ivans) Gulliford, he had also resided in Kokomo before coming to Lafayette in 1999. He married Catherine Mitchell on Feb. 2, 1992, in Marion and she survives.
Mr. Gulliford was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Ivy Tech in South Bend. He was a forklift operator for Hanson Logistics for two years. He previously worked as a forklift operator and supervisor for Venture Logistics, Lafayette and before that, groundskeeper for the VA, Marion.
He was an Army veteran and a member of Abundant Love Outreach Church, where he served as deacon and was the vice president of the Men’s Ministry. He was a member of the American Legion in Kokomo, an avid sports fan and loved to BBQ for his family and friends. He had a great love for his church and family.
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Jason Gulliford, Colo., Anthony (Kim) Mitchell and Joseph Richardson, both of Lafayette, Tim Garrett, Memphis, Tenn.; four daughters, Tamara Moore Mitchell, Indianapolis, Shari Richardson and Bridgette Gulliford, both of Lafayette and Charkinya Keys, Orlando, Fla.; six sisters, Margaret Ann Jones, Donna June Strons, Marsha Ellen Spurgon, Mary Esther Simmons, Lee Ann (Norfleet) Richardson, all of Marion and Teresa (Zachary) Allen, Kokomo; and a brother, William Lewis Gulliford, Fredricks, Md. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Alicia Fuller, Keiiontay Brown, Phillip Williams and Jasmine Mitchell; and a host of living nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladdis Bryant; and a nephew, Christyn Allen.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday in Word of Life Fellowship, 3650 N. Greenbush St., Lafayette, with Pastor Willie A. Thompson officiating. Interment is at 12 p.m. Monday in Marion National Cemetery, Marion.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until services Saturday in the church.

Mrs. Purdom was a life resident of Marion, and was a Foster-Forbes Glass Co. employee. She was a member of the South Marion Church of Christ and a 1972 graduate of Marion High School.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Harmon, Marion, and two sisters, Mrs. Ned (Loxi) Diskey, Marion, and Mrs. William (Christine) Clevenger, LaFontaine.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Shawley Memorial Chapel, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, with Galen Miller officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Sandra “Kay” Harris Poling (October 2017)
Sandra “Kay” Poling, 63, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her residence October 5, 2017. Kay was born April 7, 1954, to her parents George Harris and Mary Dicks. Kay married the love of her life, Jerry, on March 3, 1973.
Kay was a graduate of Marion High School in 1972. She worked at Richards Restaurant for many years. When Kay was not at work she would love to read and play computer games. She also enjoyed dancing to 50’s and 60’s music. Fishing was another hobby that Kay enjoyed doing with her time. She also loved going to the James Dean festival in Fairmount every September. She was able to enjoy it one last time this year.
Kay is survived her husband, Jerry Poling, Marion; Son, Christopher (Sandra) Poling, Marion; Sister, Kathy (Darrell) Smith, Marion; Father, Wayne Dicks, Marion; Granddaughters, Krystal Poling, Kingsman, IN, Vanessa Pena, Marion, and Adriana Pena, Anderson; Grandson, Delvon Martin, Marion; and 3 Great-grandchildren, Treyvon Cook, Jr., Cataleya and Cleon Lester, all of Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Harris, and sister Debra Casewell.
Arrangements for Kay have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Kay’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Bogue officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.

Cathy E. Haynes Thompson, age 60, of Gas City, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2015.
Cathy was born in Marion, Indiana on Sunday, September 5, 1954 to Robert and Barbara Haynes-Stewart. She married Ronald R Thompson, Sr. on January 23, 1972. They were married 43 Years.
Cathy was a mid-term graduate of Marion High School in 1972. She then graduated from Ivy Tech nursing program. She operated Calling Inc. from Dec 2000 until June of 2014. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting and reading. Cathy was also a big Elvis and Lawrence Welk fan, and was very artistic. She was a 20 year member of the Gas City Moose, and Marion Bunco Club.
Cathy is survived by her husband: Ronald Sr., Gas City; daughter, Aimee (Chris Carter) Thompson of Gas City; son, Ronald Jr. (Heather) Thompson of Bluffton; daughter, Ashlee (Jacob) Wright of Gas City; her grandson, Michael (Kristen Poling) whom she helped raise since the age of two, grandchildren, Alyssa (Matt Eakins), Alaynee, Hadlee, Samara, Anthony, Zoe, Adrian and Andrew; great-grandson, Ryder; brother, Michael (Debra) Haynes of Marion; sisters, Terrie Haynes of Gas City, and Tammi Cunningham; sisters-in-law, Joan Welch of Marion, and Janet (Ronald) Leech of Florida; several nieces and nephews; step-brothers, Vic and Robert “Bob” Cunningham; step-sisters, Nancy Jones, Becky Shafer and Cindy Stewart; special niece, Stacie Timmons; adopted children, Leah Woolsey, Lynnette Thompson and Calvin Brown; best friends, Valerie and Danny Enyeart and Debbie Gallion; and her dog, Dexter.

MUNCIE – Jeff Hopkins, 50, died at 6:09 a.m. Monday in Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Marion to Rodney N. Hopkins and Catherine Ann (Patty) Hopkins, who both survive in Marion. He also formerly lived in Celina, Ohio.
He graduated in 1972 from Marion High School, where he was active in the marching band. He married Tammy Miller in 1982. She also survives.
Mr. Hopkins was a good father and enjoyed cooking. He loved to fish and was an Indiana University and Pacers fan.
Additional survivors include sons, Aaron D. Hopkins, Atlanta, Ga., and Benjamin M. Hopkins, Muncie; a daughter, Kate A. Hopkins, Muncie; brothers, Michael Hopkins, Marion, and Lindsey (Pam) Hopkins, Arkansas; a sister, Leazanne Bell, Oklahoma; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Richard and Geneva Miller, Richmond.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with the Rev. Gary Ashbrooke (MHS 1972) officiating. Burial is in Estates of Serenity cemetery, Marion.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Glenn C. Jefferies, 63, Marion, died at 11:23 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, in Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion. He was born in Marion on July 8, 1954, to the late Arltain and Anita (Madley) Jefferies.
Glenn was self-employed as a massage therapist and also worked in maintenance at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion and was previously employed at General Tire. He was a lifetime member of Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, Marion. Glenn enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with the people in his life and cherished his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Carrie Jefferies, Gas City, and Erica Jefferies, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Maiya Garcia, Michael Garcia, Aubrielle Reeves, Dallas Stewart, and Gracie Stewart; siblings, Robert Jefferies, Alice Proffitt, Richard (Betsy) Jefferies, Rick (Suanne) Jefferies; several nieces, nephews, and friends; his dog, Yoda; special friend and caregiver, Jenny Fuller.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Nicholas Glenn Jefferies.
Burial was at Grant Memorial Park.

Marion – Jeffrey A. McFarren, 57, died at 9:09 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 in Marion General Hospital. He was born in Marion to the late Wesley and Jean (Snyder) McFarren. He was a graduate of Marion High School (1972) and received an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech Community College. He retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics after 31 years, and he worked as a security guard at Dana Corporation. Jeffrey was an avid bowler and was active in many bowling leagues. He enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR.
Survivors include his son, Jeffery McFarren, II; stepson, Randall King, Marion; brothers, Brian Crist and Mike Crist, both of Gas City; grandchildren, Christian Bennett, Nicholas McFarren and Zanna McFarren; special friend, Kathy Roth, Marion; nieces, Terra Eib and Angie Eib; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Johnson; and stepfather, Ernest Crist.

He married Linda (Ailes) Scott on Jan. 21, 2006. She survives. He was a member of the Greater Second Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hayes, Fairmount; sons, Gabriel Lee (Emily) McCreary, Pinole, Calif., Marcus Allen McCreary and Brenton Lee McCreary, both of Stockton, Calif.

Lawrence V. Meador, 57, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011, with his family at his side, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1954 in Peru, Indiana to the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Draper) Meador. He married Marshelle Coan on October 28, 1972. Lawrence retired from Gen Corp where he worked as a press operator and janitor and worked part time at Florines as a bartender. He was a member of the Jonesboro American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR and loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.

Tim graduated from Marion High School, Class of 1972. He received a BA from Franklin College and an Master in Political Science from Indiana State University, dedicated almost all his professional life to work for GTE who became Verizon Telecommunications on the late years. Currently retired, was working for the last 4 months on his dream of building a new house on the lake for him and his family.
Tim is survived by his wife Maritza Elena; daughters Ashley Layne, Alayna Marie, Adriana Louise and Audrey Lynne, ex wife Celeste Marie, stepdaughter Melissa Helena, stepson Miguel Angel, granddaughter Celeste Marie, brothers Adrian Jr. of Silver Lake, IN; and Andrew of Huntington Beach, CA; brother-in-law, Greg Thomas, sisters-in-law Rita Messer, Sandee Messer, Michelle Salazar, and many other family members and dear friends.

Dana Lee Scott, 63, died on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion to the late Earl Richard and Mary Jane (Gamble) Scott.
Dana was a 1972 Marion High School graduate and attended Indiana University. He worked as a nurse at Wesleyan Healthcare Center and previously at Carey Services. Known for his big personality and his ability to make others laugh, Dana loved life and he, too, loved to laugh.
His daughters were the lights of his life. Known to his teammates as “Orca”, Dana loved to play softball. He and his daughters shared a common love for the game, and he had the opportunity to coach them when they played. Dana was actively involved in playing a variety of sports, and he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his daughters, Molly E. Scott, Marion, and Kelsay (Kyle) Bisdorf, Indianapolis; brothers, Dale (Kim) Scott, Marion, and Richard “Dick” (Nora) Scott, Marion; three granddogs, Noodle, Winston, and Oscar; ex-wife, Susan Scott, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Dana was also preceded in death by his brother, Jay Scott; daughter, Megan Scott; and nephew, Jared Scott.

He was the owner and operator of Affordable Plumbing, Heating and Air. Everett was an artist who enjoyed fishing, golfing, collecting and was a Disney World fanatic.

Max previously was a truck driver for 1st Option Trucking Company. He loved working in his yard, spending time at his koi pond and enjoyed gardening.

Brent Wells Silveus passed away from lung cancer on November 8, 2016. In his final hours, he was comforted by his wife, Kimber, at his Denver Hospice bedside.
Brent was born in Warsaw, Indiana on January 16, 1954. He grew up in the family home on Winona Lake. As a child, he liked to play in the sand pile at the lake side, water ski, and spend time outside with neighborhood kids. He had a drum set in the basement, providing a musical outlet which continued into his high school years. After high school, he moved to Marion, Indiana where he married Jeanne (Hart) Silveus and began a home improvement business, Silveus Siding.
In his later years, he moved to Aurora, Colorado, where he was a professional truck driver for Crete Carrier Corporation. Brent captured his reflections of life through his photography while traveling the U.S. with Crete. His natural curiosity and power of observation shone through in his unique personal style. He shared his passion for photography with his family and social media friends. Through those friends, he found an appreciative and valued audience with whom he shared his art and engaged in lively repartee covering a wide variety of subjects. All who knew Brent will attest to his wit and sense of humor.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Richard Silveus and Jean (Sims) Silveus. He is survived by his wife, Kimber (Nelms) Silveus; his step-son Russell Hungerford; Brent’s two daughters, Linda Pope and Sarah Wegerhoff; the mother of his daughters, Jeanne (Hart) Silveus; his brother Steven Richard Silveus; sister Sydney (Silveus) Seaman; step brothers Kelly Ireland, Mike Ireland, Mitch Ireland, Patrick Ireland, and stepsister Cindy (Ireland) Seward.
A celebration of Brent’s life will be planned at a later date.

Dewayne’s sister contacted a classmate, Lynelle (Grant) Aldridge, that he had passed sometime near Thanksgiving 2004. His sister said Dewayne lived alone (in Cal. for the last 30 years) and was to have Thanksgiving dinner with a friend. He had lots of calls on his answering machine wondering where he was for about week when someone finally got the police to go check. They found him in bed, he apparently died in sleep from natural causes. She just wanted his classmates to know Dewayne was gone.

J. Garry Stevens, 61 , of Fairmount, IN, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Garry was kind and quiet and never want others to know what good deeds he did, he did them because it was what needed to be done. He was active in the community, having served on the Fairmount Park board and was instrumental in getting the walkway path put in at Playacres Park. He served on the youth baseball league board and was one of the founders of the youth basketball program at the old gym. He was on the Grant County Board of Realtors, a member of the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce, the Mecca Club, Marion, IN and the Meshingomesia Golf & Social Club, Marion, IN Garry enjoyed anything that involved water, especially boating. He enjoyed golf and campfires.
Garry was born March 24, 1954 at Marion, Indiana and was the son of the late Franklin Sr. and the late Audra (Powell) Stevens. He graduated from Marion High School class of 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Donna M. (Holloway) Stevens.

Funeral service was held at Fairmount Chapel Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 10:00 AM Wednesday July 29, 2015 with Pastor Jeff Luedtke, Chaplain Henry Favorite, and Connie Gorrell officiating. Interment was in Park Cemetery, Farimount, IN.
As per Garry’s request all memorials are to be made to the funeral home to be distributed to five special organization that have helped the Stevens and Holloway Family’s in the past.

Vicky J. Moriarity, age 59, of Marion Soared into Heaven Sunday morning surrounded by family after an eleven month battle with pancreatic cancer. Vicky was born in Bucyrus Ohio on October 22, 1954 to Owen and Jean Snyder, and they survive. Vicky married Marvin Moriarity on July 1, 1972.
Vicky graduated from Marion High School in 1972, received her teaching degree from The Ohio State University in 1984, and earned her Master’s degree in Gifted Education from Texas Woman’s University in 1987. Vicky loved teaching school and taught 27 years with the last 22 years in the Marion Community Schools. Vicky took many 5th and 6th grade students to Boston on field trips to see the history there that she had taught them during the school year. Over the course of the years she taught in Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, and Indiana.
Vicky was a diehard Buckeyes Fan and supported her Ohio State Buckeyes in all sports. She wore Ohio State apparel, had an Ohio State room in her home, and collected memorabilia. Vicky loved to spend time with her family, read, learn, travel, and explore. She has eight grandchildren that she loved spending as much time with as she could. Taking her grandchildren on vacations with her to learn and explore new areas was a real joy for her. Vicky was a member of College Wesleyan Church and was a very strong and faithful Christian who loved praying for anyone in need, and supported many mission opportunities.
Survivors include: her husband of 41 years, Marvin Moriarity of Marion; parents, Owen and Jean Snyder of Marion; daughter, Michelle (Dr. Nathan) Hoover of Chesterton; son, Brian (Michelle) Moriarity of Cape Coral, Florida; two brothers, Mark (Melissa) Snyder and Stephan Snyder, both of Marion; two sisters, Cheryl Pratley and Karen (Dennis) Harvey, both of Marion; mother-in-law, Wilma Moriarity of Gas City; sister-in-law, Brenda (Greg) Hensley of Gas City; brother-in-law, Michael (Debbie) Moriarity of Fairmount; brother-in-law, Patrick (Bonnie) Moriarity of Jonesboro; 8 grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Hoover, Mercedes, Gabrielle, Bridget, Riley, Sophia and Chanel Moriarity; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at College Wesleyan Church, 200 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana, with Pastor Alex Mandura officiating.
Burial followed services in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, and one hour prior to services on Saturday in the church.

Elizabeth Gail Tegarden, 61, of Elyria, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky, OH. She was born on January 25, 1954 in Marion, Indiana, and lived in Gary for 35 years. Born to the late Mary and Robert Tegarden, she was a fun, stylish, and hard working woman. Dedicated and compassionate, her life was committed to helping the lives of children through her legal work.
She graduated from Boston University and Valparaiso School of Law, which prepared her to take the demanding role of CASA director in Lake County. She was a professor for twenty years at the VU School of Law, all before being selected to become juvenile court magistrate. She loved her dogs, leaving behind her beloved, Matilda. Her creativity and love of art was exemplified through her elaborative and thoughtful presentation of crafts and her appreciation for music, especially Tom Petty and Bob Dylan.
Gail is survived by her brothers: Kenneth, Michael, and Robert; her nieces, Chrissy, Sarah, Becky, and Katie; their mother, Marlene; grand- nieces, Allie, and Lilly; nephews: Matthew and Ricky, and grand-nephew, Thomas. She was born in Marion to Walter M. and Maymie L. (Ferguson) Zabst. They survive. She was a lifelong resident of Marion. She married Robert L. Landis on July 12, 1980. He survives. She was a homemaker and had previously been employed at Thomson’s Consumer Electronics from 1995 to 2000. She had also been employed at Workers for the Blind and Hearing Impaired. She volunteered more than 1,000 hours at the Marion VA Hospital Library. She was a charter member of Kem Road Baptist Church and more recently was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was an avid walker and liked to ride her bike.
Also surviving are a son, Stephen, Marion; four sisters, Suzanne (Basil) Woodmansee, Florissant, Mo., Rebecca (Gary) Overley, Star City, Mary Brooksher (David) Weaver, Marion, and Libby (Ron) Campbell, Gas City; a special friend, Carol (Thomas) Wooten, Marion; an aunt, Dorothy Cook, Marion; a special cousin, Jackie Dawson; nine nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Linda Lou, Michael Eugene, Thomas and Daniel LeRoy.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. today in Sunnycrest Baptist Church, 2172 W. Chapel Pike, with the Revs. Chris Dean and Leonard Jackson officiating. Burial is in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County.
Visitation was Monday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.
