Daniel Lee Dykhoff, 63, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his Summitville, Indiana residence.
Daniel was born in Gordon, Nebraska on December 9, 1953, son of Kenneth L. Dykhoff and Esther (Fletcher) Vermilion. Daniel graduated from Marion High School in 1972 and attended Tucker Vocational School of Marion, where he studied electrical engineering. He received his journey man card through the UAW 1166 of Kokomo where he was a member. Daniel was an electrician at the Chrysler Die Cast plant of Kokomo for 24 years. He was a Lifetime member of the NRA and attended Main Street Wesleyan Church. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns with his friend Craig, and family vacation’s to the beach. He was a wood worker, part time home builder, and could repair anything mechanical.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cecilia A. Small. They were married on June 30, 1979. Also surviving are his parents; Esther Vermilion, Marion, Kenneth L. (Ardeth) Dykhoff, Marion, children; Henry Dykhoff, Summitville, and Jessica (Kiley) Craig, Abilene, TX and their children, Wesley and Alleyne, thre
e sisters; Melody Hughes, Marion, Gazina (Rick) Jumper, Nashville, TN, and Harmony Dykhoff, Marion, three brothers; David (Lisa) Dykhoff, Muncie, Don (Julie) Dykhoff, High Point, NC, and Ken (Brenda) Dykhoff, Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Don Vermilion.
Services for Daniel will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastor Ken Dykhoff and Shawnda Dykhoff officiating at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Visitation is Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics, American Cancer Society or the Indiana Blood Center in care of the funeral home.
